Welcome to Cogent. Georgia Hatton.

We are delighted to welcome Georgia Hatton as the newest member of our team here at Cogent. Joining new business in the Propagation Hub, Georgia lets us in on her experiences before Cogent and life outside of work.

What were you doing before Cogent?

“My previous agency was also based in a barn, so clearly, I have a type.”

I’ve come from a creative agency in Alcester. I made up part of the strategy team and focused on social media, content and SEO. My previous agency was also based in a barn, so clearly, I have ‘a type’.

Why Cogent?

“The idea of being in a big barn in the countryside is a lot more appealing than a tower block in the smoggy city.”

For me, my surroundings and environment are really important. The idea of being in a big barn in the countryside is a lot more appealing than a tower block in the smoggy city. I wanted to work for a place I was proud of and felt I could be here at Cogent. I wanted to be part of an inspiring, creative and forward-thinking team. I also really resonated with the brand values, which doesn’t always come naturally when joining a new company or team. I love the idea of Togetherness.

Outside the Hive?

“I have an industry blog called Marketing Island that takes up quite a lot of my time, but I love it.”

I love walking my sausage dog in the countryside, listening to Elvis on vinyl and people watching. I pay regular trips back to my coastal hometown in Dorset to see my Labradors (and parents, I guess). I also have an industry blog called Marketing Island that takes up quite a lot of my time, but I love it. Aside from that, I have a soft spot for Gogglebox, Derren Brown and coffee.

Can you tell us about an example of Togetherness that you find particularly inspiring?

“The ’03 Bonnie and Clyde, Hov’ and B.”

I love the inspiring idea of civilians coming together in the second world war to pick stranded British troops up from Dunkirk. (I’m no historian, I’ve just recently seen Dunkirk the movie!) The idea of families sailing out and coming together to rescue soldiers on the beaches of France gives me the shivers. In times of need, Togetherness wins.

On a less serious note…

The ’03 Bonnie and Clyde, Hov’ and B.

Power couple.
