Cogent Beekeeping: April 2018.

Time flies when you're having fun.

It’s May, that means we’re one month closer to summer and just seven months away from Christmas (too early to start the countdown?).

Before we look forward, let’s take a minute to look back on what a jam-packed, fun-filled month April’s been.

First up, the agency grew as we welcomed two new starters, Georgia & Rob, who joined the Propagation Hub and Creative and Technology Hive at the beginning of the month. We also welcomed back Kim from her maternity leave, while Kate re-joined the Relationships Hive after a few months away (they’ve both been missed!).

Snap’s 1990 classic ‘The Power’ made it back on to the agency playlist as our planners ran both a brand naming workshop with our utility client npower, and a customer journey workshop for global gas tech manufacturers, Geotech. We love workshops here at Cogent, the perfect opportunity for a little Togetherness, right?

The Kwik Fit team headed to the NEC for the annual Kwik Fit Conference. Al Murray, Pub Landlord provided the entertainment and we’re told there’s video evidence of him making a beeline for Cogent’s table and sharing a few ‘thoughts’ much to the audience’s delight – the team have managed to keep the footage under wraps so far though! Meanwhile, members of our PR team attended the Midlands PR Conference where they explored how we embrace change in such a versatile and fast-moving industry.

After competitive pitches, we also won three amazing new clients! We’ll be helping two with PR, and developing a new TV campaign for the other (so, watch this space!). On top of that, our clients, Lintbells, Company of Animals and Green Sheep Group all won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise!

We welcomed pro rugby coach Tom to Cogent for a spot of rugby fitness training as part of our wellness programme (so far we’re two weeks in, and it’s safe to say, there are a few aches and pains), but our in-house masseuse has been in to save the day!

We saw the launch of Cogent Talks, where every Tuesday lunchtime, we get together in the Horsegin for a collection of on-screen case studies, interviews, presentations and documentaries over a sandwich (because knowledge is power). Aside from that, we’ve also been ramping up the GDPR training to ensure we’ve got everything in check.

On another note, despite only having around two days of sun, we’ve seen the farm spring into life with colour, wildlife and daffodils. This month the bird feeder has attracted a Turtle Dove, a Goldfinch and a brave little squirrel (to our CEO, Bruce’s, delight). Our global honey collection also grew by two, we now have pots of delicious sweetness from New York and Dorset.

So, it’s been a busy month here at Cogent, but that’s how we like it. Catch up with us for next months Beekeeping as we continue to live and breathe Togetherness to produce better results all around.

Bring on May!
