Cogent Beekeeping: January 2020.

Time flies when you're having fun

January is finally over, (why did it seem to go on for 175 days?) and Cadbury’s Mini Eggs are already on the supermarket shelves. The month of love and Aquarius season is upon us, but before we welcome (or artfully dodge) cupids arrow, we reflect on what a month it’s been here at Cogent HQ.

Our first campaign went live for Bacofoil this month, with a mix of digital programmatic ads and paid social video content. We launched ‘Boss It with Zipper bags’ to help people who are trying to eat more healthily and be more organised in the new year with meal prepping.

Kwik Fit returned to Autosport International this year, a motorsport show at Birmingham’s NEC, to promote their ongoing sponsorship of the British Touring Car Championship. We were excited to see our stand design come to life!

A new GoGo SqueeZ micro-influencer campaign went live across social this month. The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness of the brand while encouraging Mums to purchase healthy snacks for their kid’s lunchbox.

We also launched the Energy Management Toolkit for npower Business Solutions. The toolkit is a library of resources to help energy managers navigate what energy means for their business and ways they can reduce consumption, cost and carbon emissions. The project included the UX, design and build of a new section on the Energy HQ site, alongside lots of sales support materials. To drive traffic to the toolkit, we also created a suite of social assets and managed PPC.

We’ve been busy on the Marston’s account this month running several digital campaigns across a variety of channels. In line with #DryJanuary we launched the ‘Low & No’ campaign, encouraging customers to try low and no alcoholic drinks at Marston’s pubs.

In other news, congrats are in order for Rob, a member of the Creative Hive here at Cogent. Rob has reeled in a few awards at various independent film festivals in Europe and America over the past few months. He produced the photography and poster design for a short film called  ‘The Beauty Of It’ which got selected for an award at the American Golden Picture International Film Festival. Bravo Rob! It’s great to see our team persuing their passion and being rewarded for it!

We also welcomed Emma from MarketReach, an arm of Royal Mail specialising in the strategy and insight that sits behind mail campaigns, in for a lunch & learn. She spoke all about how we can use mail to increase campaign effectiveness and how it can be used in integrated campaigns alongside digital and social. A super insightful day, empowering our teams with knowledge!

We ended the month covered in cream and topped with marshmallows. Yup, you guessed it, it was #NationalHotChocolate day! We all down tools to enjoy a mug of hot cocoa and a quick catch up.

That’s all from us this month – 2020 is well underway, and we’ve got some exciting things coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled… and until then, we’ll catch you next month.
