Cogent Elliott PR turns up the heat on competition with new campaigns for Calor Gas
31st October 2012
Cogent is working on a number of consumer PR campaigns for the UK’s leading supplier of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG). The first two campaigns require Cogent to develop a programme of awareness-raising activities promoting Calor’s range of cylinder gas and BBQs, as well as celebrating the benefits of camping, caravanning and life in the great outdoors.
The Portable Heaters campaign supports Calor’s marketing of its practical heaters for both living and for lifestyle, whilst Domestic Central Heating focuses on rural and energy-conscious homeowners unaware of the benefits of choosing LPG over electric or oil. The fourth campaign backs the regional launch of Calor’s entry into the Wood Fuels market.
The campaigns have already seen the Cogent PR team working with acclaimed chefs Marcus Bean and Masterchef finalist Claire Hutchings at events such as the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC. The PR team, headed by PR Specialist Louise Bucknall, joins the integrated marketing teams at Cogent already working with Calor.
Mike Phillipson, CEO, Cogent Elliott said: “It’s a testament to the efforts of the Cogent PR team that it attracts long-established household names whilst still in the early stages of growth itself. Calor is another great win for Louise and her team.
“What is also reassuring is that this consumer PR win is complimentary to the existing accounts we have with Calor elsewhere in the agency. It’s further evidence that the integrated, multi-faceted Cogent offer really does set us apart.”
Alastair Lovell, Head of Marketing, Calor said, “As we were already impressed by the service provided by other departments within Cogent, it made the decision to work with the PR team a little easier. Nevertheless, Cogent PR has already impressed us, proving enthusiastic, strategic and capable of delivering results.”
