Creative Team at Cogent Elliott Scoop Cannes Young Lions Award
Our young creative team has beaten off stiff competition in one of the World's most prestigious creative award ceremonies by winning the print category in this year's Guardian UK Cannes Young Lions competition.
Jenny (26 years) and Casey (22 years) had to respond to creative briefs provided by UNICEF – the world’s leading children’s organisation – and had just a single weekend to develop and produce their ideas in one of four Young Lions categories: media, print, cyber and client.
The pair will now go on to represent the UK at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June along with three other Young Lions teams.
Richard Payne, Creative Director at Cogent Elliott said: “This is great news and is a massive achievement for such a young team.
“Jenny & Casey’s work was selected from over a hundred entries. It’s amazing what they came up with in such a short space of time and is a terrific acknowledgement of their creative ability.”
This is the first time a UK ‘young clients’ team was selected to take part in the international Young Lions contest to be held at the 58th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity at Cannes, France. The four winning teams were chosen by a panel of expert judges from over 100 entries.
Kate Vigurs, Senior Direct Marketing Officer, UNICEF UK, said: “It has been a pleasure for UNICEF to work with this year’s Young Lions competition. The standard of work from the shortlisted entrants was incredibly high, giving us a fantastic opportunity to explore new and creative ways to talk about our critical work for children. We wish all the winning entries the best of luck at Cannes.”
Richard concluded: “This award success is really just one small step for Jenny, Casey and Cogent as we continue on our quest of delivering outstanding strategic and creative work for our clients.”
