COGENT LAUNCH FIRST TV CAMPAIGN FOR NEW ONLINE TRAIN TRAVEL BRAND REDSPOTTEDHANKY.COM

The vibrant and bright TV campaign "All Wrapped Up", conveys Dick Whittington's famous red spotted hanky as an icon for the desire to travel.

The ad highlights the redspottedhanky offering of average savings of 51 per cent on train tickets bought in advance through the site rather than at the station on the day. A ticket purchased through redspottedhanky.com carries no booking, credit card or delivery fees (except next day delivery), and awards loyalty points that can be used against future train ticket purchases. The strap line is ‘All your train travel needs wrapped up in one’.

redspottedhanky’s Gareth Woodhouse said: “Savvy customers know that it pays to shop around for the best deals, purchasing train tickets is no different. The redspottedhanky offering of great prices and customer rewards means that we have established ourselves as a unique provider and a real challenger to TheTrainline.

“Together with a fresh, bright, fun brand identity, a warm approach and a price promise to guarantee the best deals available we’re confident that the new TV spot will bring something new to the market place.”

The work is the third stage of an integrated marketing campaign delivered by Cogent. Last year we developed the redspottedhanky.com online brand, followed by the creation of its fully transactional website.

Richard Payne, Creative Director said: “We developed the Dick Whittington style red spotted hanky icon as we felt it summed up the brand’s integrated travel offer. The bold illustrative style makes the brand achieve real stand out. I’m particularly proud of the team who have taken the creative style to a new level, making it work equally well on TV as it does in a digital format.”

“The work Cogent has developed for redspottedhanky.com is a true integrated marketing approach. Our new TV campaign will enable the bright and impactful customer facing brand to continue to be a strong contender in the online retail market place,” concluded Gareth Woodhouse.

redspottedhanky.com launched last year to provide train and corporate travellers with a new and easy online booking service to find the cheapest UK train tickets online, saving on average a significant 51% on the cost of tickets booked in advance. It is also the first ever British online travel retailer to offer loyalty points for regular train travellers to redeem against future rail travel in Great Britain.
