Challenging percetions of our second city.
External perceptions of Birmingham are that it is a grey, tired, industrial and boring city. However perception lags reality as people who live there and those who have
actually visited the city have a completely different view of Birmingham – contemporary and evolving, fresh and youthful, friendly and charming with many hidden gems. Cogent felt that Marketing Birmingham needed to start communicating what the city is about with clear messaging and a compelling
argument giving reasons to invest and why as Birmingham is a city powered by the energy of youth, imagination, enterprise,
cultural fusion and ideas.
